Each year, Gaz de France publishes the following documents:

• a sustainable development report which is drawn up in line with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI),

Since 2001, The Group's auditors are responsible for verifying the indicators in the sustainable development report.

The purpose of this assessment is to:

• judge the effectiveness of measures taken in the past,
• review operational priorities on the basis of stakeholder needs and economic conditions,
• adjust measures to take account of results,
• improve economic results,
• keep the public informed of the effectiveness of the Group's measures to foster sustainable development.

As part of its policy of continuous improvement, Gaz de France regularly seeks environmental and corporate accountability ratings from independent rating agencies such as SustainAbility, whose methodology has been adopted by the United Nations Environment Programme.
