Reporting

Sustainable development reporting is a horizontal Group process that combines 2 methods of evaluation:
  • a qualitative evaluation: feedback on policies and undertakings,
  • a quantitative evaluation: using the Global Reporting Initiative indicators (“GRI indicators”).

There are 5 types of indicators

  • Quality: these are used to assess:
    • the certifications which are obtained,
    • the satisfaction of customers and partners,
    • the allocation of research budgets,

  • Safety: these reflect the frequency and severity of workplace accidents

  • Environment: these reflect the ecological impact of Gaz de France's activities on the environment by measuring such things as:
    • emissions of greenhouse gases and sulphur oxides per business unit,
    • the quantity of waste which is generated and recycled,
    • the proportion of the research and development budget which is spent on environmental protection issues,

  • HR and labour: these reflect the diversity and working conditions within the company, by measuring such things as:
    • the stability of jobs,
    • the number of training hours provided per employee,

  • Economic: these reflect the economic and financial health of the Group by measuring a number of key aspects: turnover, volume of energy bought, taxation levels, etc.
