The “2005-2007 research contract” provides for:
- a reduction in the environmental impact of the gas industry,
- rational energy use (natural gas fuel, cogeneration),
- the creation of long-term energy solutions (hydrogen, biogas, renewable energies).
In 2006, Gaz de France was involved in the following international research projects among others:
- Energy Efficiency in Buildings: designing buildings with a minimal environmental footprint
Gaz de France is contributing to this project run by WBCSD (the World Business Council for Sustainable Development), - Tacoma: high-technology combustion
As part of a partnership with IFP, Total and CNRS [France's national science and research institute], Gaz de France is working on solutions to enable CO2 trapping at major combustion facilities.
