Gaz de France's central objective can be broken down into 4 strategic priorities:
In real terms, these 4 priorities are realised as follows:
In Europe, more than 13.8 million customers (residential, corporate and local authorities) have already chosen Gaz de France. The Group's ambition: to continue to be its customers' favourite energy supplier, in an open market, by combining natural gas and electricity and developing effective, innovative and environmentally positive offerings.
Gaz de France wants to establish a supply portfolio that is balanced between supplier countries and between the gaseous and liquefied forms of natural gas. The Group is also developing its own production capacity with an eventual target of 1000 million boe (barrel oil equivalent). And finally, it plans to increase its electricity production capacity to 5000 MWe.
Gaz de France has one of the best safety records in the business. It will complete its cast iron main replacement programme in France by the end of 2007.
In addition, the Group is working to expand its infrastructures. For example: a medium-term target of 2 billion cubic metres of storage capacity in France and Germany. Moreover, construction of the new Fos-Cavaou terminal will be completed in 2007.
In the near future, Gaz de France's target is to have 15 million gas supply customers in Europe. To achieve this, it will reinforce its development in Benelux, Italy and in Central and Eastern Europe.
