Energie Investimenti : major account activities of Gaz de France in Italy brought to the joint-venture

Milan, Paris, June 20, 2007 – Energie Investimenti, a joint venture set up by Camfin and Gaz de France in the natural gas industry, today signed an agreement providing for the contribution of Gaz de France's branch specializing in the sale of gas to major Italian accounts. This transaction, worth a total of €40 million, should be finalized in the second half of July and remains subject to the approval of the relevant authorities.

This operation will allow Energie Investimenti to expand its customer portfolio and to boost its commercial dynamism in dealing with its clientele of 850,000 residential customers and small companies but also with major industrial corporations. Energie Investimenti is expected to double its sales volumes with the supply of more than 3 billion cubic metres of natural gas every year, positioning itself as one of the top-ranking operators in Italy. Energie Investimenti will sell gas to major account customers under the Gaz de France energY label.

This agreement widens Energie Investimenti's scale and array of businesses. It represents a new step in the strategy adopted by Gaz de France for the reorganization of its commercial activities in Italy. For Camfin, the transaction confirms the strategy of focusing on high-quality partnerships in order to strengthen its role as an important player in energy and environmental businesses.

The Gaz de France group is a major player in the European energy market. Ranked first in the distribution of natural gas in Europe, Gaz de France employs more than 50,000 people and, in 2006, generated sales of €27.6 billion. The Group boasts a portfolio of 13.9 million customers, 11.1 million of whom are based in France. Listed on the Paris Bourse in July 2005, Gaz de France entered the CAC40 and the Dow Jones Stoxx 600 indexes in September 2005.

CAMFIN is the company listed on the Milan Stock Exchange that heads a Group active in the sectors of energy and of managing participations. Present in the Italian energy market since 1915, Camfin has progressively developed its businesses in other sectors in view of a strategy of business diversification. The parent company, Camfin SpA, closed 2006 with a positive net result of 16.7 million euros.
