In Camargue, the 1,000 hectares of wetlands that make up the Marais du Vigueirat boast exceptional biological diversity. Gaz de France has developed two partnerships to protect this natural area:
- The aim of the first, with the Conservatoire du Littoral coastal protection society, is to create Camargue's first botanical garden;
- The second partnership, with WWF, was formed as part of the European Life Promise project. It has three elements: to reduce human impact on the area, to promote understanding of the biodiversity of the wetlands and to raise awareness and extend the experiment to other areas.
